Looking for the best way of Insulating A Garage Door? I found and easy DIY garage door insulation installation kit and man am I happy with it. These foam panels are the best way to insulate a garage door for sure and costs less than $100 to insulate a single car garage. There are other DIY solutions out there involving complex cutting using materials that look home made that just did not fit my garage aesthetic. I shoot Youtube videos in my garage and needed my garage door insulation to not only function well but look good too. Air conditioning or heating a garage requires good insulation to be efficient. Without good garage door insulation the heat or cold would transfer right through the metal to the garage. These thick foam panels separate the temperature of the metal door from the space.

This kit is a 1 person Do It Yourself that is easy and affordable. Plan for about 2-3 hours with minimal tools. The afternoon sun beats down on the garage door and the temperature in my garage can reach almost 100 degrees. After the garage door insulation it does not get over 85. This kit is great for a garage in hot weather as well as garage in the cold weather too. This garage door insulation will reduce your energy bill and pay for itself in no time.

UPDATE*** I have had the insulation since 3/2021 and it works great. My AC system easily brings the temp down and the garage door remains cool to the touch even on the hottest days. I am very happy and would not change a thing. There have been thousands of people who have done a DIY install and I have not heard any complaints. These installs have been done in both hot and cold areas with great results.

TIPS:

This is a very easy DIY project that can be accomplished by all skill levels.

Measure twice and cut ounce. Wasting this product will leave you short. Be sure of your cuts.

If remove bolts for the foam panel to be inserted. Replace bolts immediate after installing foam and before moving to next panel.

Take your time. For first few panels bend panel gently to avoid creasing it. After your comfort level is improved it will go faster.

If you plan to restore and or paint the door. Paint areas prior to installation of foam to avoid taping and extra work to protect the new foam panels.

After installing the insulation the door should freely and easily move up and down with no effort with the door opener disconnected. Test before and after the install. If door is difficult and heavy to move a spring adjustment may be necessary. My install as well as many others did not require this due to the light weight of this product. If you decide to adjust the spring be careful!
